Horsechestnut Flowers

Horsechestnut Flowers is drawn in coloured pencil on  Graphic Film. It is a bit smaller than ACEO size 3.5 x 2.5 inches. I did a series of miniature coloured pencil drawings with the theme of the horsechestnut tree. We are losing so many due to disease and they won't be replanted because they are not originally British.  It is sad because they have become part of British culture. Children collect the seeds in autumn to play conkers. I enjoy painting conkers but I love the flowers. The trees in spring and early summer look like candelabra with their upward pointing spikes of flowers
